Brow Lamination Aftercare
Picture this: you wake up, wash your face, dab on a light moisturizer—and that’s it. Your brows are already groomed, framing your cheekbones and setting the tone of your whole look. No spoolies, no gels, no five-minute battle in the mirror to tame rebellious hairs. That’s why we love lamination: the procedure locks in shape for 4–6 weeks, leaving you only one ritual—admiring yourself in the mirror.
But brow longevity isn’t magic; your brows need attentive care. Let’s break down what not to do in the first 24 hours, how to shield brows from the blazing Florida sun, and what to do if something goes sideways.
The “Cinderella Rule”: The First 24 Hours Are Most Important
Right after lamination the hair cuticles are slightly open and the keratin mix is still “curing.” Any stress at this stage can sabotage the result.
Strict no-no’s during the first day:
- Moisture: washing your face, showers, pools.
- Steam & sweat: intense workouts, sauna, hammam.
- Cosmetics: creams, oils, eye makeup remover, makeup.
- Actives: AHA/BHA acids, retinol, scrubs.
Mechanics: touching, brushing, sleeping face-down.
Make-up removal hack: Dip a cotton bud in micellar water and dab off mascara along the lash line—no rubbing.
The Sunny Isles Factor: Sun, Salt & Your New Brows
Sea, sun, humidity—perfect for vacations, not always for laminated brows. Excess UV degrades the polymer holding hairs in place, leaving them dry and unruly. Salt water and high humidity can also weaken the set, especially if you dive a lot.
If you’re vacationing somewhere hot (hello, Florida!), protect your brows like this:
- Wear a visor or bucket hat to create shade and block direct rays.
- Use sunglasses—they protect both eyes and brow area from UV.
- Don’t rub your face after swimming. Gently blot with a soft towel to preserve the set.
- Apply an SPF serum. A gel with titanium dioxide shields hairs without white cast or clumping.
- Groom with a spoolie in the morning to bring back shape after sleep.
- Apply a nurturing oil at night—castor or keratin-infused oil strengthens and restores.
- Minimize aggressive factors (sun, salt, sweat, heat) whenever possible.
- Show daily love. Small rituals add up and extend lamination life.

SOS Situations: When Things Go Wrong
Laminated brows can suffer if after-care is skipped or harsh products are used. Warning signs:
- Whitish or discolored tips → dryness, structural damage.
- Stiff, brittle hairs that refuse to lie flat.
- Increased breakage—hairs snap or fall when brushed.
- Sparse patches and loss of shape.
Try home rescue first:
- Keratin bombing: an ampoule treatment with keratin & peptides; leave on 5–10 min, 2–3× week.
- Jojoba or argan oil: nourishes, softens, restores elasticity (apply nightly with a cotton bud).
- Castor oil: fortifies roots, boosts growth, fills any gaps.
- Panthenol gel: soothes skin, calms irritation, aids healing.
But book a pro ASAP if:
- Hairs stay stiff/brittle despite care.
- Brows stick out in all directions and won’t submit.
- Redness, flaking or itching appear.
- The set “slips” after just a couple of days.
- A DIY “fix” made things worse—don’t worry, we’ll correct gently!

Save & Pin: 8 Golden Rules for Long-Lasting Brows
- Keep brows dry for 24 hours—moisture weakens the polymer set.
- Skip the sauna, pool & gym right after the procedure—steam and sweat break down structure.
- Use SPF on your brows—UV destroys the keratin film, causing dryness and breakage.
- Remove eye makeup gently with mild products and cotton buds.
- Hands off & easy on the brushing—too much friction damages the style.
- Apply nourishing oils nightly to maintain hair health and prolong the set.
- Avoid aggressive acids—they dissolve the polymer and ruin the effect.
